Terms of Service

By using Responsive Test Tool, you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain English โ€” no legal jargon โ€” so you know exactly what you're agreeing to. It's a short, fair read.

Section 01

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Responsive Test Tool ("the Service", "we", "our", or "us"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of the Service immediately.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. Using the tool โ€” even without creating an account โ€” constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Section 02

Description of Service

Responsive Test Tool is a free, browser-based utility that allows developers, designers, and QA professionals to preview websites and web applications across a range of simulated screen sizes and device viewports โ€” all without requiring a login or account.

What the Service provides:

  • Instant previews of any public URL in mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports
  • Custom viewport dimensions for precise testing
  • Screenshot capture and shareable test links
  • A completely client-side experience โ€” your URLs are never sent to our servers
  • Access to developer tips and related resources
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
Section 03

Permitted & Prohibited Use

You may use Responsive Test Tool for any lawful purpose related to web development, design, testing, or research. We want the tool to be genuinely useful, and we trust you to use it responsibly.

You may use the Service to:

  • Test your own websites, client sites, or projects you have permission to access
  • Conduct legitimate quality assurance, accessibility, or compatibility testing
  • Create screenshots for documentation, reporting, or presentations
  • Share test results or links with colleagues and clients
  • Use the tool for educational or demonstration purposes

You must NOT use the Service to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically access third-party websites in violation of their terms
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, server, or network
  • Use the Service to distribute malware, phishing content, or any harmful material
  • Overload, flood, or otherwise disrupt the performance of the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
  • Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable local, national, or international law

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension of your access to the Service and, where required by law, reporting to the appropriate authorities.

Section 04

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, graphics, text, and all other content created by us, is the exclusive property of Responsive Test Tool and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

  • Our content: You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our interface, branding, or documentation without our express written permission.
  • Your content: Any URLs or data you enter into the tool remain entirely yours. We make no claim over any websites, content, or intellectual property you test using the Service.
  • Third-party content: We are not responsible for the content of websites rendered within our tool. The respective owners retain all rights to their content.
The Responsive Test Tool name, logo, and associated marks are our trademarks. You may not use them without prior written authorisation, except to accurately refer to our Service in a factual context (e.g., "Tested with Responsive Test Tool").
Section 05

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us and is a foundational principle of this Service. Our Privacy Policy explains in full how we handle data โ€” and the short version is: we collect as little as possible and never sell your information.

  • URLs you test are processed client-side in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers
  • We do not require registration, login, or any personal information to use the core tool
  • Any analytics we collect are anonymous and used only to understand aggregate usage patterns
  • We never sell, rent, or trade your data with third parties for marketing purposes

By using the Service, you also agree to our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Section 06

Disclaimer of Warranties

Responsive Test Tool is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. We do our best to keep the tool reliable and up-to-date, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We expressly disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements or that any errors will be corrected.

The Service simulates viewport sizes for testing purposes. Results may not perfectly reflect how a website renders on actual physical devices due to differences in browsers, operating systems, hardware rendering, and device-specific behaviour.

Section 07

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Responsive Test Tool and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of โ€” or inability to use โ€” the Service.

  • Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities resulting from use of the Service
  • Errors or inaccuracies in viewport simulations or rendered content
  • Temporary or permanent unavailability of the Service
  • Any actions or content of third-party websites rendered through the tool
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data by third parties

In all cases, our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim โ€” and since the Service is free, this limit is zero.

Section 08

Third-Party Links & Content

The Service may contain links to third-party websites, and you may use it to render and test content from third-party sites. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites.

When you load a third-party URL through our tool, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to access and test that website. We are not a proxy service and do not endorse, monitor, or guarantee the accuracy of any third-party content.

We strongly encourage you to read the terms and privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit. Our inclusion of links does not imply endorsement of the linked sites or their operators.

Section 09

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration or resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction. You agree that any legal proceeding must be brought in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class action.

We genuinely want to resolve any issues fairly. Before taking any formal legal action, please reach out to us directly. Most concerns can be resolved quickly with a simple conversation.
Section 10

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms of Service at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also post a notice on the homepage or send a notification if we have a way to contact you.

  • Changes take effect immediately upon posting to this page
  • Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms
  • If you disagree with any updated Terms, you should stop using the Service

We recommend bookmarking this page and reviewing it periodically to stay informed of any updates. The most current version of these Terms will always be available at responsive-test-tool.com/terms-of-service.
